A | Legendary actor Dharmendra, also known as Bollywood's He-Man, passed away today, leaving a void in the industry. Ever since the news broke, not just his fans, but the industry folks have been sharing tributes on social media and recalling their association with him. A couple of years back, Filmfare had spoken exclusively to Rajveer Deol, Dharmendra's grandson and Sunny Deol's son about his grandfather. He spoke to us about the things he learnt from the veteran actor and his bond with him.
Talking about his bonding with Dharmendra, Rajveer said, "He used to pamper me, giving me literally anything I asked him. I was close to him growing up. And so was my brother. I’ve learnt from him that the main thing is the craft of acting; that stardom is something I should not really pay attention to. And if it comes, it comes. It’s not something you chase."
Sunny Deol’s younger son Rajveer Deol made his debut in Dono, directed by Sooraj Barjatya’s son Avnish and co-starring Poonam Dhillon’s daughter Paloma. Talking about how Dharmendra was always a fan favourite, he continued, "And I love that. It feels good just to see him connect with fans. He puts himself out there completely and he responds to people he interacts with."
Asked whether he grew up watching his grandfather’s films, Rajveer answered, "I’ve watched a lot of movies starring my father, grandfather, and even my uncle, Bobby Deol. But those weren’t the only movies I’ve watched. I’ve seen a lot of world cinema and regional cinema as well."
Dharmendra made his debut in 1960 and quickly became a superstar. He was known for his versatility, mastering roles from the romantic hero to the tough action star. His career boasts over 300 films, many of which are considered classics today. Some of his most memorable performances include the iconic role of Veeru in the cult classic Sholay, as well as memorable performances in Phool Aur Patthar, Seeta Aur Geeta, Chupke Chupke, Dharam Veer, and Pratigya. His natural charm and powerful screen presence earned him millions of fans worldwide. Also Read: Exclusive: Rajveer Deol on taking his father Sunny Deol and grandfather Dharmendra’s legacy forward。 (ECNS) -- Datong City in north China's Shanxi Province saw its agricultural imports and exports exceed 250 million yuan (about $35.7 million) in the first half of this year, with notable growth in both trade volume and product quality. Datong Customs has introduced full-cycle services and smarter supervision across the agricultural supply chain. Working with local agricultural and market regulatory authorities, it carried out joint inspections, training, guidance and problem-solving services, visiting more than 20 enterprises during the first half of the year. The Datong Municipal Commerce Bureau has also adopted a tailored "one enterprise, one policy" approach. In Tianzhen County, a cross-border e-commerce and miscellaneous grains industrial park has been established, bringing together nine agricultural e-commerce companies and creating a digital channel for local agricultural products to reach overseas markets. Customs authorities have also stepped up support for local exporters. In Hunyuan County, officials have worked with enterprises to facilitate exports, while a company in Lingqiu County received one-on-one guidance on registration procedures for exporting chili sauce to Mongolia. Datong Customs has also helped leading companies, including Tianzhen Bocheng Vegetable Co., Ltd., obtain AEO (Authorized Economic Operator) certification. Measures such as online certificate issuance and streamlined customs clearance procedures have further improved efficiency. Processed food exports have emerged as a key driver of growth. In the first half of the year, Datong's tomato paste exports surged 476.2% year on year, while buckwheat flour exports rose 47%. Dehydrated vegetables from Tianzhen County have also been showcased at several international exhibitions, helping local companies secure orders worth millions of dollars. Datong has continued to expand the overseas reach of its agricultural products. Locally produced tomato paste has entered markets including Russia, Mali, Moldova and Gambia, while the city exported tomato sauce to the Republic of Korea for the first time. Local companies have also participated in major international food exhibitions, including SIAL Paris and the Global Traditional Food and Nutrition Products Expo, securing multiple cooperation agreements. Meanwhile, international recognition of "Datong Hao Liang" (Datong Good Grains), the city's regional agricultural brand, has continued to grow. (By Tang Yuxian)
